What's a Street Transfer?

Street transfers are a great short-term measure to increase service options at subway stations that are proximate but lack physical connections. Street transfers allow subway riders to exit one station, cross the street, and enter another nearby station without paying a new fare.

A street transfer is currently available at the F line 63rd Street station to connect riders to the E/M/6 lines at 53rd Street in Manhattan. There are many possible transfer sites that could enhance rider's options, particularly in Brooklyn. Until an underground tunnel can physically link these lines, we think street transfers should immediately be provided to G line riders.

· Broadway station (G line) – Hewes Street station (J/M line)
· Hoyt-Schermerhorn station (A, C, G lines) – Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street station (2, 3, 4, 5, M, N, R, W, D, Q lines)
· Hoyt-Schermerhorn station (A, C, G lines) – Nevins Street station (2, 3, 4, 5, lines)
· Hoyt-Schermerhorn station (A, C, G lines) – Hoyt Street station (2, 3 lines)
· Fulton Street station (G line) – Lafayette Avenue (A, C lines)
· Fulton Street station (G line) – Atlantic Avenue/Pacific Street station (2, 3, 4, 5, M, N, R, W, D, Q lines)
